Hans Vrijenhoef elected EVP / President Elect of Ammonia Energy Association

Tuesday June 21 Hans Vrijenhoef, chairman of the Management Board of Proton Ventures, is chosen as Executive Vice President / President Elect of the Ammonia Energy Association.

About Hans Vrijenhoef

Hans Vrijenhoef studied chemical engineering at the Technical University Delft and graduated in 1982. After various jobs in Exxon Mobil and Kemira’s large scale ammonia and fertiliser operations in Rotterdam Europoort, he started Proton Ventures BV in 2001, with the aim to green society by using green ammonia.

Having several jobs in large scale ammonia storage projects (up to 60,000 ton), Proton Ventures has developed a scalable modular ammonia production concept based on renewable energy, flared gasses, and waste gasses. Also Proton has been involved in various DeNOx, Hydrochloric acid, urea, and nitric acid projects in Europe, Africa, Middle East and North America. Today, Proton Ventures is part of the Transhydrogen Alliance in which Proton plays an important role to secure green energy (hydrogen / ammonia) for western Europe.

Hans Vrijenhoef, Chairman to the management board and founder of Proton Ventures:  ‘I am very happy to share that I’m starting a new position Executive Vice President / President Elect of the Ammonia Energy Association. Lets green our society together with “green” and temporarily “blue” ammonia as to replace fossil based oil and gas,today and in the near future, for all (chemical) industries, agriculture and further energy segments.’
