Lead engineer at Proton Ventures:

Responsible for managing and leading the technical part of the project by interfacing with client, engineering team, internal organization and subcontractors in order to ensure the project is executed and the deliverables are met in line with the agreed contract requirements.

Specific tasks and responsibilities will include and are not limited to:

  • Base on the project requirements and in close collaboration with the Engineering Manager sets up the engineering team for the project that is able to meet the deliverables within a good working climate and achieve business excellence.
  • Supports an engineering project team
  • Manages project(team) activities, by ensuring the resources are available
  • Identifies contract scope changes
  • Informs project management in the event of any changes
  • Identifies the contract risks
  • Develops Engineering project planning
  • Recognizes and assesses changes and progress and takes corrective actions
  • Checks/approves the engineering documents
  • Informs project management on cost and planning
  • Assesses expenses and estimates
  • Manages engineering budget versus actual
  • Initiates, coordinates, tracks and manages financial processes, Closes out the project
  • Within the project: Manage, motivate and support Engineers with the management tools and guidelines provided.
  • Manage the day to day workload of the engineering team assuring that the top quality, efficiency and deadlines are met.
  • Assesses the relevant technical part of the contract
  • Deep understanding of the technical part of the contract, advice that enables Operations to effectively manage the decisions with regard to the technical side of the contract.
  • Prepare and manage the engineering workload within the project execution plan, setting up the engineering support team, in consultation with the project manager.
  • Prepare and deliver all engineering documents fulfilling the project scope and actively inform project management on cost and planning driven alternative solutions.
  • Monitor all engineering project related financial processes, prepares and manage the engineering budget.
  • Insights into budget and forecast realisation and possibilities for corrective steering.

Qualifications:

  • BSc/MSc. degree in Chemical or Process Engineering
  • 5 years minimum experience in a comparable field of work
  • Knowledge of the engineering software (Aspen Hysys, Aspen Plus, Autocad, AutoCAD Plant 3D, AVEVA etc…) is a plus..
  • Interest in renewable energy and energy transition
  • Able to organize and prioritize your workload
  • Knowledge of international standards applicable to the chemical and processing industry, such as API, ISO, ASME, IEC, PGS, etc. is a plus
  • Ability to speak and write in English at a professional level
  • Project Management, basic understanding
  • Experience in start-up & commissioning is a plus
  • VCA-VOL is a plus
